The first time I used the steam facial with water from the sink and pinches of salt, no steam came out of it. Then I added more salt which produced a heap load of steam, but left my face itchy and red. When I substitute it with bottle water, it also provided a great amount of steam and no more itchy, red face! It left my face really soft. It’s really easy to assemble and I would recommend this product to anyone.

Based on the great reviews, I was so excited to get this product. It is smaller than it looks in the picture here, which is good, because I didn’t really want a big steamer. Yet, the tank holds plenty of water and the unit produces as much or as little steam as you would like (based on the amount of salt you put in). At first, I tried turning my head from side to side as it suggests in the directions, but that created this warming/cooling effect that didn’t really let my pores open. I found that the best way to use it is seated with the steamer on a table in front of you and a towel over your head. This creates a luxuriously warm (or hot) steamy environment for your skin. I have never felt such intense steam, even in a steam sauna. Just hold the towel up on one side so you get plenty of fresh air to breathe. The turbie twist hair towel is a nice addition to this steamer as it allows you to keep your hair covered/dry and out of the way while you are steaming, plus it is very light compared to most towels so it won’t tire your neck as you lean over the steamer.
